Mar 21, 2010 (Edited) Recently, on another forum, someone asked about this pocket watch, claimed to come from his grandfather: A watchmaker/collector then showed a similar item: Note the identical serial numbers on the calibers (847129). "Norwich" is . #1. I have seen several posts regarding Swiss fakes of model 1857. I have a real mystery. I don't believe this is a Swiss fake. The Dial has three feet, The balance cock and plate under the dial are marked with the number 63. The full movement number is also stamped on the plate under the dial. Sounds like it might be a Swiss fake. These were sold in the US without a Swiss made marking until 1871, and after that until 1900. There are fathers who do not love their children; there is no grandfather who does not adore his grandson. ~ Victor Hugo
